The Person Behind the Profile

I have never believed that people check their humanity at the door when they come to work. The best teams I have built were not full of performers — they were full of people who gave a damn about each other, held each other to account, and showed up honestly even when it was uncomfortable. That is the culture I build. Every time. On purpose.

I read the room before I read the metrics. Understanding where your people actually are — not where the dashboard says they should be — is what separates a manager from a leader.

I say the hard thing clearly and respectfully. No corporate softening, no ambiguity as armour. If something is broken, we name it. If someone is struggling, we address it. That is how trust gets built.

Family & Life

Married to a long-time partner and best friend. We are raising five children in a loud, creative, high-energy household in Kerry, Ireland — and I would not trade a minute of it.

One of our kids completed both secondary school and a university degree at sixteen, with intensive coaching and support from the whole family. That is not a brag — it is evidence of what happens when you take development seriously and show up consistently for the people who depend on you.

The same principles I apply at work, I live at home. Consistency is not a work-only value.

Outside the Office

I write — fiction rooted in Irish mythology, leadership books with no fluff in them, technology guides for people who are tired of being talked down to. Over twenty published titles. Eight more in progress.

I write music. 160+ original songs across country, blues, funk, and swamp rock — streaming globally under the Ink & Iron name. It is the same stubbornness that runs operations, just louder.

I mentor. Not because it looks good on a CV — because watching someone figure out what they are capable of is one of the most satisfying things a person can do with their time.
